igus headquarters in Cologne, Germany


Since its foundation in 1964, igus GmbH has always been based in the Cologne area. From the double garage in Cologne-Mülheim, the company moved to Bergisch Gladbach in 1977 and finally to its current headquarters in Cologne-Lind in 1994.

The flexible igus factory

Before moving to the current location of the company headquarters, a new factory had to be built. One requirement was that it should be as flexible as possible so as to guarantee future growth and adapt to possible changes. igus founder Günter Blase commissioned the well-known British architect Nicholas Grimshaw with the project.
